Recruitment – Graduate Planner

Topland New Zealand is recruiting a motived graduate planner to work in our team on a broad range of projects regional wide.

A real opportunity to play a key role in shaping the places around us. You could be considering everything from an application for a house extension to an apartment complex or major brownfield development / subdivision. As a private consultant agency, we offer the following planning services to clients, developers and stakeholders:

• Advice;
• Due Diligence;
• Development feasibility;
• Assessment of Environmental Effects (AEE);
• Resource Consent Applications;
• Project Management.

We also work for Council and government bodies in Auckland, considering consent applications for development, assess them and make recommendations to the delegated authorises.

The role will suit a fresh planning graduate to three years’ relevant experience who wishes to progress their career in an experienced and qualified team. You will have the opportunity to learn professional planning skills under assignments with the Unitary Plan, Regional and National Policy Statements, interface skills with the wider project design group, professional project leadership skills, presentation, consultation, and communication skills. All of which are valid attributes of planners in our team.

Applicants should have:

• A planning degree recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• The ability to work unsupervised in a collegial environment;

• An aspiration to learn and professionally develop in the field of Resource Management Planning;

• An understanding of the Resource Management Act;
• Be a competent user of MS Office packages and be computer literate;
• New Zealand Driver’s License (Full).
